VASCO: Amit Kamat (18) and Fahad Teenvale (25) were taken into custody by Vasco police in the early hours of Thursday morning on suspicion of employing unlawful force against employees while performing their duties.
PSI Mayur Sawant and chief constable Jayesh Gaonkar, according to information from sources in the Vasco police station, were out on night patrol.
When they arrived in Mangor at around 01.30 am, they discovered two boys sitting and consuming beer on the road.
Both boys were combative and began arguing with PSI and Staff when the police stopped and questioned them.
They continued to push the head constable while intoxicated, shattered a beer bottle on their own head, and caused self-inflicted head and neck injuries.
The two began to accuse the police of assaulting them. The two people caused a commotion after the cops brought them to the station.
They were charged with employing unlawful force against employees while doing their duties by Vasco police station, and they were placed under detention in accordance with sections 353, 504 read with 34 IPC and section 34 (vi) of the IP Act.
Sources stated under the direction of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh and the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak, Head Constable Suresh Dasar is doing additional inquiries.
