PONDA: Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik announced that government will soon start Agriculture College at Codar-Ponda, where B.Sc in Agriculture, a four-year degree course, will be offered.
He said that the government has started all required procedures for the same and if possible first-year college will begin in the year 2022 at the Administrative complex building of Codar Farm.
Naik was addressing media persons at Ponda after launching a saplings distribution programme organised by the State Agriculture Department. Along with him, ZAO Nagesh Komarpant and others were also present.
Naik said there is a need for an Agriculture College in the state, so the government has initiated the process to set up the college as per Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) standards.
ZAO Nagesh Komarpant said that the college will have at least 40 seats to start with, and students aspiring to get admission will have to answer the NEET-based entrance test.
