MANDREM: MLA Jit Arolkar today has threatened to send BJP leader Dayanand Sopte a legal notice after being implicated in the attack on former Mandrem Sarpanch Mahesh Konadkar.
A prominent leader like Sopte ought to have given it some serious thought before making such outrageous accusations, according to Arolkar.
MGP MLA Arolkar, who is also a member of the Sawant-led administration, declared, “I will be issuing a legal notice against him.”
Sources claim that after accusing Konadkar of siding with Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, five people in masks attacked him and beat him with an iron rod.
Since Lobo was recently asked if he would be interested in running for assembly from the Mandrem constituency, there have been rumors that he might.
Later, Konadkar was sent to Tuem Hospital and
then sent for additional care at the Mapusa District Hospital.
Prashant, also known as Bala Naik, Pradeep Hadfadkar, Bhushan, also known as Pradeep Naik, former Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, Mandrem Sarpanch Miguel Fernandes, former sarpanchas Advocate Amit Sawant, and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo hurried to the hospital to check on him after learning of the attack.
