MAPUSA: The Food and Drugs Administration conducted a surveillance drive at the Mapusa Bus Stand focusing on food safety and cold chain compliance.
During the inspection, FDA officials observed a marked improvement in the handling and storage of temperature-sensitive products, noting that perishable goods were being maintained under prescribed storage conditions.
Authorities said the stricter adherence to standard procedures indicated better compliance with food safety norms and improved handling practices by operators.
During the drive, officials also detained several products that lacked proper labelling, stressing the importance of traceability and consumer safety.
The FDA stated that regular monitoring and inspections at transport and distribution hubs will continue to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and safeguard public health.
