PANAJI: Former workers of Sesa gathered in front of Sesa Ghor in Patto, Panaji, on Friday morning in a demonstration of dissatisfaction, demanding the release of their provident fund amounts.
The peaceful protest took a turn when the workers, who were upset about not being allowed to enter the building, called for the deployment of police.
Dozens of Sesa employees demonstrated outside Sesa Ghor to express their displeasure about the withholding of their provident fund amounts.
The workers addressed their demands to the company’s management by holding placards and airing their grievances.
But the protesting workers encountered opposition when they tried to enter the building to voice their concerns to management directly. Tensions increased when workers were refused entry by security personnel. Local authorities responded to the situation by sending out a police force to keep everyone safe and preserve order.
The employees’ insistence on having their demands heard and the importance of their provident fund release led to a standoff between them and security personnel. During the demonstration, the police presence tried to keep things peaceful and avoid any escalation.
The employees claim that their concerns about the release of their provident fund have not been sufficiently addressed, even after making multiple appeals and attempts to get in touch with management. As a group, they are protesting to raise awareness of their situation and demand a solution.
