PANAJI: Dynamic and Vibrant Goa will host the second edition of one of the most prestigious energy events, India Energy Week (IEW), 2024, between February 6-9 at the IPSHEM-ONGC Training Institute in the southern part of the state.
The truly global event will be exemplified by the presence of top energy sector policymakers from around the world. Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs will headline the event. The prominent foreign-government functionaries speaking at the event include Petroleum Ministers from Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Sudan and Energy Ministers from Ghana, Djibouti and Sri Lanka, among others.
The top decision-maker body for the oil exporting countries, OPEC, will be represented by its Secretary General, Haithan Al Ghais.
Further, India’s public sector companies in the energy sector will turn up in full force with Chairmen and Managing Directors of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Oil India Ltd (OIL), Engineers India Ltd (EIL) and Petronet LNG Ltd (PLL) speaking at various conferences.
Moreover, the line-up will be augmented by the presence of top executives from the private sector companies including Reliance Industries, Aramco, ExxonMobil, bp group, Cairn Oil and Gas, Halliburton, Baker Hughes and ABB among many others.
Additionally, to provide a 360-degree perspective on the global energy scenario, India Energy Week 2024 will also feature speakers from regulatory bodies, renewable and alternate fuel associations and companies, policy researchers and consultants.
Organized by Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry [FIPI] under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, India Energy Week, 2024 will serve as a catalyst for meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among industry experts, policy makers, academia and entrepreneurs.
IEW 2024 is expected to draw over 35,000+ attendees, 350+ exhibitors, 400+ speakers and 4,000+ delegates, from over 100 countries. The event will host an extensive array of exhibitors, across the value chain, lending dynamism to the atmosphere.
During IEW 2024, Ministerial, Leadership, Technical Sessions and Roundtables will explore varied themes like energy transition of the global south, building a future ready energy stack, chartering the roadmap of alternate fuels for energy optionality and impact of localization, regionalization and globalization on energy-related industrialization and manufacturing processes.
Preparations in Goa
With the clock winding down to the designated date, various government departments, including the nodal ministry at the Centre and Goa administration, are working tirelessly to cover all possible logistical and environmental aspects involved in hosting a mammoth gathering to ensure that the local life remains unaffected.
The government of Goa has offered to provide 40 electric buses, which would help cut the carbon footprint in ferrying delegates. Further, locations are being identified for disposal of sewage and other disposable waste during the event. The deployment of adequate traffic police personnel has also been planned to ease the pressure on local commuters.
