PANAJI: The Bhartiya Janata Party along with Porvorim Rising Jyestha Nagarik Manch celebrated the 99th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee as ‘Good Governance Day’. The celebration was scheduled at Nana Nani Park, Porvorim, on December 25, 2023, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. Dignitaries present at the auspicious occasion included the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Printing and Stationary, Government of Goa, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, ZP member Smt. Kavita Gupesh Naik, Sarpanch Penha De Franca Shri. Sapnil Chodankar, Sarpanch of Socorro VP Smt. Soniya Pednekar and other esteemed panch members.
A medical camp was organized as part of Sushasan Divas in collaboration with PHC Porvorim and RG Hospitals, reflecting the organizers’ commitment to the health and well-being of the community. The medical camp offered various services including General Medicine consultation, Eye check-up, Ayurveda consultation, and Homeopathy consultation.
The Minister Rohan A. Khaunte remarked on the occasion, “The period of good governance witnessed during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure brought the nation together in its journey of growth. Since 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji, we have continuously pursued a vision for the nation’s progress. Porvorim witnessed rapid development, and our efforts were dedicated to bringing government flagship schemes to the grassroots level. This occasion establishes tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s legacy and emphasizes our commitment to fostering excellence in governance for the prosperity of our community.”
The Minister has announced that residents of Porvorim will have access to dialysis services at the Porvorim Primary Health Center starting in 2024.
Good Governance Day, honoring the legacy of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee was enhanced by the success of the associated medical camp.
