PANAJI: The Goa Cabinet has placed on record its appreciation for the substantial financial and developmental assistance extended by the Government of India to the state, with total assistance cited at ₹32,226.57 crore under various schemes, interest-free loans and National Highway works.
In a Cabinet Resolution adopted on October 10, 2026, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years of continuous service as Head of Government, the Council of Ministers acknowledged the Centre’s continued partnership in advancing Goa’s development priorities and improving the welfare and quality of life of its people.
According to the resolution, Goa received ₹10,457.45 crore under Centrally Sponsored Schemes during the period from financial year 2014–15 to 2026–27. Another ₹5,133.12 crore was received as a 50-year interest-free loan under the Scheme for Special Assistance for Capital Investment (SASCI) between financial year 2020–21 and 2026–27.
The combined assistance under these two components stands at ₹15,590.57 crore. In addition, the Centre has sanctioned works worth ₹16,636 crore under the National Highways programme, taking the total assistance cited in the resolution to ₹32,226.57 crore.
The Cabinet expressed its appreciation for the Centre’s support, which has contributed to improvements in infrastructure, connectivity, higher education, healthcare and basic services across Goa.
The resolution also highlighted major infrastructure projects, including the New Zuari Bridge, Mopa Airport Road, Porvorim Flyover, Atal Setu over the Mandovi and the Madgaon Western Bypass. These and other development projects listed in the document represent an aggregate investment of approximately ₹7,436 crore.
Acknowledging the wider developmental partnership between the Centre and the state, the Goa Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Government of India towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 and the continued progress and prosperity of Goa.
