PANAJI: In a significant move to strengthen security in Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that all Pakistani nationals, except those holding diplomatic or long-term visas, must leave India by April 29, 2025.
This directive follows an advisory issued by the Home Department, aimed at tightening national security and maintaining law and order in the state.
CM Sawant confirmed that three Pakistani nationals currently residing in Goa have been instructed to leave the country by the specified deadline.
He further revealed that 17 Pakistani nationals in the state are on long-term visas, and the local police department is working closely with them to ensure full compliance with the order.
“We are taking immediate steps, including combing operations and strengthening security at vital locations across the state,” CM Sawant stated.
He assured the public that these efforts are part of an ongoing initiative to safeguard Goa’s residents and visitors.
A key focus of the security measures is the protection of Kashmiri students and residents in the state.
The Chief Minister emphasized that it is the government’s duty to provide complete security to all Kashmiri people living in Goa.
“All Kashmiris can directly contact our police stations, and we will provide them with 100% security,” he added, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their safety.
In addition to these measures, the Goa police are actively monitoring social media platforms to detect any potential threats or disruptions.
CM Sawant assured that the police department is fully aligned with the Home Department’s advisory and is working diligently to uphold peace and security in the state.
Authorities have called for public cooperation and vigilance as Goa’s security forces continue to implement these necessary precautions.
The Chief Minister’s statement marks a decisive step in the state’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all its residents.
