PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal inaugurated the Solar Electric Hybrid Ferry Boat at Panaji.
Sawant said the Solar Electric Hybrid Ferry boat at Panaji is the first project of its kind in Goa.
“The ferry boat will operate from Chorao to Panaji on a trial basis for passengers only, and it will be free for the initial 15 days,” he said.
Sawant said the Govt will decide on rates after this period.
“Goa Govt will start solar ferry boats at other locations so that fossil fuels are not used. I thank Govt of India for
their support; the floating jetty is the 2nd project in Goa,” said CM.
Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal inaugurated the floating jetty in the presence of CM, Union Minister of State Shripad Naik, Ministers Subhash Phaldessai and Babush Monserrate.
Sonowal said, “Goa is a dream destination, and projects such as these will add to the dimension of the potentiality for global and domestic tourists visiting the state.”
