PANAJI: The Children’s Court has extended Judicial Custody of accused Suchana Seth till February 26.
The Court also adjourned the hearing for February 21 Feb on accused Suchana Seth’s father’s plea pleading to conduct Suchana’s mental health assessment afresh.
Seth is currently lodge in the Central Jail at Colvale in North Goa. She has been booked under various offences, including murder, destruction of evidence and section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
Seth is accused of killing her four-year-old son at a resort in Candolim in north Goa. She then stashed his body in the trunk of a taxi she hired to escape from Goa to Bengaluru, before getting arrested en route on January 8.
“She is not consistent with her statements. Initially, she said she would talk only after her lawyer came, and then she admitted to killing her son. However she later told the police she had not killed her son,” said the Goa Police sources.
The blood stains the police found in the apartment room were not her son’s but hers as she had attempted to die by suicide by cutting her wrist, the police sources added.
