PANAJI: The Tourism Department in Goa has directed all tourist trade operators to complete mandatory registration within the stipulated time, warning of strict action against defaulters.
According to officials, trade registration has been made compulsory for all stakeholders operating within the tourism sector, including accommodation providers, travel agents and related service operators. Failure to submit the required application and data within the given deadline will attract penalties and could lead to legal proceedings.
Authorities also clarified that individuals offering accommodation through online platforms such as short-term rental services are not exempt from the rules. Property owners listing their premises for tourist stays must register with the Tourism Department, failing which their operations will be treated as illegal.
The department has further stated that enforcement teams will conduct inspections and site visits across the state to verify compliance. Operators found functioning without valid registration will face action under relevant provisions of the law.
Officials have urged all concerned to adhere to the regulations and ensure timely submission of applications to avoid penalties.
