PANAJI: The Directorate of Food & Drugs Administration in collaboration with Nestle and NASVI (National Association of Street Food Vendors of India) organized a training program for the street food vendors today at the Directorate’s Conference Hall, Bambolim.
The programme was held to raise awareness and education on Food Safety Practices and Hygiene among street food vendors.
It is informed that the training programme was the second edition of the training on “Serve Safe Food”, which aims to train 1000 street food vendors across Goa. 40 street food vendors were trained.
The program commenced with an inaugural function. The Director, Food & Drugs Administration, Smt. JyotiSardesai, Corporate Affairs Manager at Nestle India on behalf of Nestle India Limited Shri. Sanjay Bhandari and Shri.PrashantNaik representing NASVI spoke about the importance of hygiene in street food and the benefits street food vendors would obtain from the FoSTaC training.
Personal hygiene Kits and Food Safety Display Boards were also distributed to the participants.
