PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has launched the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell at Mahalaxmi, Panaji, to help Goan families access financial assistance and guidance for major medical treatments.
The initiative was launched in the presence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, the Chief Secretary, the Secretary (Health) and other dignitaries. The programme aims to ease the financial burden on families dealing with serious illnesses and specialised medical procedures.
Under the scheme, eligible Goan residents can seek financial assistance amounting to 30% of the cost of a medical procedure or up to ₹2 lakh, as applicable. The assistance will be provided over and above the benefits available under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY).
Applicants can submit their applications online through the official Goa government portal at goaonline.gov.in, along with the required documents. Offline application forms will also be available at the Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation (DPSE).
For further information and assistance, applicants can contact the toll-free helpline 14524.
Chief Minister Sawant stated that the government remains committed to strengthening healthcare access across Goa through Goa Medical College, primary health centres, community health centres, district hospitals and super-speciality services.
With more than two lakh beneficiaries under DDSSY, the government aims to further expand healthcare support and ensure that financial constraints do not prevent eligible residents from accessing timely medical treatment.
