PONDA: The Mardol Police has registered an offence against PE teacher Vishwas Prabudesai (53) resident of Marcaim for molestation of a minor school girl in school premises at Taluka Ponda.
The teacher is booked under section 354 of IPC, Section 8(2) of Goa Children Act and Section 8, 12 of POCSO Act.
The accused is said to be absconding even as the police have launched a extensive search.
Locals said following the shocking sexual harassment the victim is going through tremendous trauma and has left school last month.
The younger sister of victim studying in same school also quit the school due to fear of accused teacher.
It is learnt that the alleged accused first molested the school girl on 25 March this year when she was writing answer paper for the examination.
She was seating at last bench of classroom when the accused molested her.
It is learnt that the victim went naratted her ordeal to one lady teacher but even though two months passed no action was initiated.
Fearing further harassment she filed complaint with Headmaster on 23 July.
However the School Headmaster and Management failed to take proper action against accused or file any police complaint.’
