PANAJI: Goa recorded 61.38 lakh tourist arrivals between January and July 2026, registering an overall growth of 0.08% compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the latest data released by the Department of Tourism.
Of the total arrivals, 59.02 lakh were domestic tourists, while 2.36 lakh were international visitors during the first seven months of 2026.
July 2026 recorded 6.94 lakh tourist arrivals, marking a 2.27% increase over July 2025. The growth indicates continued tourist demand for Goa even during the monsoon season.
Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said the figures demonstrate that Goa continues to remain a strong and resilient tourism destination. He said the state is focusing not only on increasing tourist numbers but also on diversifying its tourism offerings and markets.
Khaunte highlighted wellness, heritage, MICE, adventure, nautical tourism, spiritual tourism, gastronomy and workation as emerging tourism segments that can attract visitors beyond traditional beach holidays.
The state is also intensifying efforts to expand its international tourism footprint by engaging with both emerging and established source markets, strengthening air connectivity and developing targeted tourism products.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said the July figures were particularly significant as they reflected continued demand during the monsoon, traditionally considered an off-peak period for Goa.
According to Naik, Goa Tourism has been actively promoting monsoon tourism and experience-led travel, encouraging visitors to explore the state’s hinterland, culture, wellness, cuisine, nature and adventure offerings during the green season.
With 61.38 lakh visitors already recorded in the first seven months of 2026, Goa Tourism expects the second half of the year to benefit from the upcoming festive, leisure, MICE and international travel seasons.
