MARGAO: South Goa Congress Lok Sabha MP Francisco Sardinha today has slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement over the South Goa seat.
“Goa’s culture is not like that of Gujarat, this is what I will say to the statement of Amit Shah when she said that South Goa people should vote for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls,” said Sardinha
He further said that the BJP has no leaders and that is the reason they had to snatch Congress leaders to their party.
“Goans are not with the BJP. The BJP put cases against some MLAs and in other cases, they were shown the money,” he added.
Sardinha said while the eight MLAs have left the party to join the Congress, the party is also to be blamed for the defections.
“The liars and looters who had presided over the party at that time were responsible for allotting the tickets. I had lodged my objection, but they were all overruled,” he said.
Sardinha, however, though the eight MLAs have defected, the party is still strong and alive in Goa.
He said that Karnataka Congress is fighting for Mhadei diversion since it benefits that state but Goa Congress is with the people in fighting for Mhadei.
“Karnataka Congress is fighting for Mhadei diversion since it benefits that state but Goa Congress is with the people in fighting for Mhadei,” he added.
