PANAJI: Governor P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have extended greetings to the people of Goa, especially the Muslim community, on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha (Id-Ul-Zuha).
In his message, Governor P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that Id-Ul-Zuha, celebrated in the spirit of sacrifice, compassion and benevolence, is observed with deep devotion and enthusiasm across India and the world.
Describing the festival as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” the Governor said the occasion inspires people to uphold values of faith, charity, selflessness and humanity. He added that all religions advocate universal ideals such as love, peace, compassion, harmony and brotherhood.
The Governor further appealed to people to renew their commitment towards peaceful coexistence, friendship and mutual understanding, while wishing that the festival brings peace, happiness, prosperity and unity among all communities.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also conveyed Eid-al-Adha greetings to the people of the state and wished peace, harmony, good health and prosperity to all.
The Chief Minister urged people to continue promoting unity and brotherhood in society and extended “Eid Mubarak” wishes on the festive occasion.
