PANAJI: The Goa government has assured positive and timely solutions to concerns raised by the trading community following a high-level meeting held in Panjim with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and key stakeholders.
The meeting saw detailed discussions on challenges faced by traders, with participants highlighting issues affecting day-to-day business operations. The government reiterated its commitment to resolving these concerns and improving the ease of doing business in the state.
Among those present were Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane, PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, District Magistrate and Collector Brijesh Manerkar, Chief Officer of Mapusa Municipal Council Chandrakant Shetkar, and All Goa Merchants Federation President Narayan Karekar, along with members of the Mapusa Merchants Association.
Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza said the meeting was a positive step towards addressing long-pending issues of traders. “Today’s meeting reflects the government’s commitment to listening to the concerns of our trading community. I am confident that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the issues raised will be addressed with practical and timely solutions, ensuring a more business-friendly environment in Mapusa and across Goa,” he said.
The discussions are expected to pave the way for policy interventions and administrative measures aimed at strengthening the trading sector and resolving operational bottlenecks.
