PORVORIM: Law Minister Nilesh Cabral said that the Government is exploring the possibility of insisting on Aadhar authentication for land transactions.
Replying to a question tabled by Adv Carlos Fereira on whether the Government is aware of the rise in bogus land transactions in the State, Cabral said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is formed to investigate alleged land grabbing cases.
“For ease of doing business and to streamline the process of mutation after registration and to maintain transparency in the system, the provisions of Land Revenue Code, 1968 and Rules are amended from time to time, and the mutation process is carried as per the prevailing provisions,” he said.
Asked reasons the Government is not insisting on Aadhar authentication for the execution of the documents which require registration, he said, Government is exploring the possibility of insisting on Aadhar authentication.
