MURMUNE (SATTARI): Even though the residents of She Melavli expressed satisfaction over the government’s decision to shift IIT they have reiterated their earlier demands.
Addressing a press conference the villagers told that they welcome the decision of the CM but told that they are not yet satisfied.
They have stated that the land which is already in the name of IIT should be discarded and the villagers should get class I rights. They have also demanded that the cases against them should also be withdrawn.
“We want that the government should transfer the land to us and make us the owners. Even our houses should be transferred to our names.” the villagers said.
The villagers said till their demands are met, they will continue their agitation.
Meanwhile, AAP’s Delhi MLA and spokesperson Raghav Chaddha met the people of Melauli and extended the party’s support to the agitation.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday declared that the government will shift the IIT Goa project from Guleli to elsewhere following a representation led by Health minister Vishwajit Rane.
