FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai today hit out at Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, saying that he should refrain from stating that Goa’s unemployment rate is high because Goan youth is unskilled.
“Stop demoralising our youth. CM Sawant should refrain that Goa’s unemployment rate is high because #Goan youth is unskilled and deficient is not only wrong but also demotivating,” said Sardesai.
He further said that Chief Minister lacks the skill to find jobs for them, but at least he can do is stop belittling them.
Raising concern over the high unemployment rate that includes more than 70 per cent of graduates, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant yesterday stressed the need to encourage skilled-based education to create a better workforce.
Sawant said that the State government has initiated various convergence efforts across the skill ecosystem to enhance skill levels and create a skilled workforce which is a need of the hour.
“Government alone cannot do anything. Educational institutions will also have to take the lead and introduce skilled-based courses. We need to work together to reduce the unemployment ratio,” Sawant said.
