VASCO: Indian Naval Ship (INS) Aditya provided medical assistance to an injured fisherman who had suffered multiple fractures while fishing in the sea off the Goa coast yesterday.
As per PRO Defence, Mumbai, based on a distress call received from a fishing boat, FV Mahonnathan, INS Aditya provided medical assistance to the critically injured fisherman about 75 nautical miles West of Goa. The fisherman had suffered fractures with crush injuries on the fingers of his right hand.
The fisherman was provided first aid in the boat before getting him on board to arrest bleeding and further treatment. Once he was stable, the fisherman was transferred back to his fishing boat.
