PANAJI: In a major development, MPDA chairman Krishna (Daji) Salkar re-joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, the party he had deserted a few years ago.
However, sources now say that as the result of Salkar’s entry, the incumbent MLA Carlos Almeida may be on his way out of the BJP.
Almeida had already made his sentiments clear, saying he may have to take harsh decisions if the ticket is denied.
Speaking to the media, Almeida said that BJP is taking people involved in the scam.
“I did not attend the function as I am the one who complained against that person on the land scam. What message will I send to teh people,” he said.
Almeida said that irrespective of whether he gets the ticket, he will be there for the next elections.
“I have different plans ready. I have Plan A, B and C, which I cannot reveal at this movement,” he stated.
On Salkar’s inclusion, he said that it is an insult to the people of Vasco.
“Vasco people gave power to BJP for more than 10 years.
Now, if the party thinks something else, I do not want to comment,” he said.
To a query whether he is joining any other party if he is denied a ticket, Almeida said many parties are in touch with him.
“I-PAC has been consistently contacting him, and he will make a decision at the right time,” he said.
Sources revealed that Almeida has been in contact with TMC and I-PAC, and in the coming days, a final decision will be taken.
