PANAJI: On Wednesday, the Aam Aadmi Party does not engage in casteism, but Congress and BJP do so to gain votes ahead of the election, stated Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi CM and AAP national convenor.
Stating clearly that the BJP and Congress have suppressed the Bhandari Samaj’s talent and representation for years, Kejriwal hit out at them.
While addressing media in Dabolim, he said, ” Bhandari Samaj accounts 30 per cent of Goan population, but there has not been a single Bhandari community CM in Goa, since the past 60 years of liberation. Only Ravi Naik became a CM that too for two and half years. I am not doing this Casteism, but this is being done by both the parties”.
“Both parties have been using Bhandari Samaj people to get their vote bank arithmetic right, ahead of elections, and then they neglect the issues of Bhandari Samaj”, he added.
“I had met a reporter yesterday. He told me all the Congress and BJP doubted AAP’s decision to make CM from Bhandari Samaj. The Congress and the BJP don’t believe that a Bhandari Samaj CM will be able to handle the state or whether they have enough talent to administer? Such type of questions they were raising.
Hearing these two parties talk like this, my blood boils; what do they think that only Congress and BJP have talent? The people of the Bhandari community do not have talent?”, questioned Kejriwal.
“In every field, people from Bhandari Samaj excelled and contributed for the betterment of Goa. There is talent in every community. The next CM will be from the Bhandari community in Goa. He will be a person who will not do casteism and will work for the betterment of all of Goa, he said.
