MANDREM: MGP MLA Jit Arolkar has dismissed reports of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), describing them as rumours circulating in the media and on social media.
He said the situation would become clear at the appropriate time when the BJP and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) sit together for seat-sharing discussions.
Arolkar indicated that the outcome of the proposed talks between the two parties would provide clarity on the political developments and speculation surrounding his possible move to the BJP.
Meanwhile, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar has credited Jit Arolkar for his electoral success, stating that he became an MLA because of Arolkar.
Arlekar also said that the two leaders share positive thoughts about each other.
The remarks come amid speculation over political alignments and seat-sharing arrangements in Goa, with the future course of discussions between the BJP and MGP likely to draw attention in the state’s political circles.
