PANAJI: As a part of SVEEP activity for the forthcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024, the office of CEO in Collaboration with Disability Alliance for Inclusive Goa has organized a special drive on 21/12/2023 at Dr. K. B. Hedgewar High School, Cujira for marking of Persons with Disabilities on the Electoral Roll to avail facilities at the polling station on the day of Poll.
The Persons with Disabilities also performed a wheelchair Musal Folk Dance to encourage the other PwDs to break the barrier and register and vote in large number for the forthcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024. During the programme, many PwDs were tagged in the Electoral Roll.
The Chief Electoral Officer Shri. Ramesh Verma, IAS appealed to all the people attending the programme to make awareness in their locality so that no PwD voter is left out from enrollment in the Electoral Roll. CEO also requested the PwDs present to take the assistance of SAKSHAM Eci App or BLOs of their respective part to Tag them on the Electoral Roll as EVERY VOTE COUNTS.
The CEO further said that the CEO office shall make all the required efforts through the District Election Officer of both the District to achieve target of free, fair and Accessible Election during General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024.
During the Programme, Shri. Lloyd Fernandes, Gold Medalist Para Table Tennis, Kum. Sakshi Kale, Silver Medalist in long Jump and Bronze Medalist in 100 meter running as we as Shri. Chetan Salgaonkar, Bronze medalist in Para Table Tennis class 9 category were felicitated for their outstanding performance at Khelo India Para Games 2023, New Delhi.
The Programme was attended by Shri. Sudesh Gaude, Asst. Professor, IPHB and State Nodal Officer for Accessible Election, Shri. Taha Haaziq, State Election Icon and Secretary, Commissioner for Disabilities, Patrick D’Souza, President of Disability Alliance for Inclusive Goa, Shri. Vishant Nagvenkar, Secretary, Disability Alliance for Inclusive Goa and Joint CEO, Smt Triveni Velip, Shri. Deepak Amonkar, Principal of Dr. K. B. Hedgewar High School, Cujira and Manager Shri. Subhash Desai, Manager, Dr. K. B. Hedgewar High School, Cujira.
