QUEPEM: Just a few days after the Minister for Women and Child announced he plans to digitisation of Anganwadis, there comes an eye-opening incident which shows the reality of anganwadis in Goa State.
Around 23 children and the attendant and helper of Anganwadi at Gawal-Khola had a lucky escape as the entire roof of the premise came down last night due to heavy rain.
A local Prabhakar Vaidhya said that around 23 children study in Khola Anganwadi, and it is fortunate that the incident happened at night time.
“If it happened in the morning, then it would have been a tragedy,” he said.
Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
Altone also took the initiative to make temporary arrangements for the Anganwadi children.
Altone D’Costa said he does not want to do any politics on such a serious issue.
“I will try to get this work done quickly,” he stated.
“I am aware of the problems of every person in the Quepem constituency, and I will try to solve all those problems in five years,” he stated.
