SALCETE: A 29-year-old man was arrested by police for allegedly possessing 3.5 kilograms of ganja during an operation at Bhattiwaddo, Cavelossim, Salcete.
The accused has been identified as Issac Regan Pereira (29), a resident of Lakaki, Davorlim, Dicarpali, Navelim, Salcete.
Police said they seized 3.5 kg of suspected ganja from the accused during the operation. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and its intended distribution.
The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of South Goa Superintendent of Police Tikam Singh Verma, DySP Siddhant Shirodkar, and PI Videsh Shirodkar.
