PANAJI: Beginning on December 18, a survey and mapping of encroachments on Comunidade of Serula land will be conducted.
In order to finish surveying and mapping the encroachments as soon as possible, the Directorate of Settlement and Land Records, Panjim, assembled a team of four field surveyors: Shubam Gawas, Suraj Lotlikar, Dattaram Mandrekar, and Vivek Bude.
The team will draft the plans with regard to the building footprint and the areas occupied by each encroacher, noting their names, surveys, and subdivisions. It has been requested that the lawyer for Comunidade of Serula and the administrator of Comunidades, North Goa, offer their full support to survey team.
The Directorate of Survey and Land Records was instructed by the High Court of Bombay in Goa earlier this month to conduct a survey in order to ascertain the extent of any encroachments on Comunidade of Serula land and to submit a thorough report to the North Goa Administrator of Comunidades, Mapusa, within eight months of the survey’s completion. In addition, the Administrator has been instructed to address the complaints within four months of receiving the report or reports that the Directorate of Survey and Land Records has submitted.
In order to start survey work, the Comunidade de Serula has deposited Rs 1 lakh. More payments will be made to the Directorate of Survey and Land Records as needed.
