MARGAO: A three-week Community Dog Sterilisation Camp in Margao concluded successfully on May 4 with a total of 745 community dogs sterilised during the campaign.
The concluding function was held at the Manohar Parrikar Stadium in the presence of Digambar Kamat, who commended the efforts of the organisers and veterinary teams involved in the initiative.
The sterilisation drive was conducted over 18 days under the leadership of Dr. Sachin Naik and his team, which included Dr. Erica, Dr. Bharath, Dr. Anveet and other veterinary professionals. Dr. Stacy Sequeira and Dr. Murugan also attended the event and praised the successful execution of the campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Kamat stressed the need for compassion towards animals and called for collective responsibility in managing community dog populations humanely.
The entire sterilisation camp was funded by Model Margao, an initiative of Yogiraj Kamat.
Sandeep Azrencar, President of SGWTA, welcomed the guests at the function, while Sonia Fernandes, Secretary of SGWTA, proposed the vote of thanks. Staff members and volunteers associated with the campaign were felicitated for their dedicated service and contribution to the initiative.
