VASCO: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho chaired a Monsoon Preparedness and Disaster Management Committee meeting at the New Vaddem office to review the readiness of various departments ahead of the monsoon season and address key civic concerns requiring immediate attention.
The meeting focused on issues such as desilting of drains, flood-prone areas, road safety measures, emergency services preparedness, power supply management and other precautionary steps aimed at ensuring public safety and minimising inconvenience during the monsoon period.
Officials from various departments participated in the review meeting and discussed coordinated measures to tackle possible monsoon-related challenges.
Godinho appreciated the swift coordination and preparedness demonstrated by the Mamlatdar’s office, Panchayats, Mormugao Municipal Council, Water Resources Department, Public Works Department and the Electricity Department in undertaking preventive measures ahead of the rainy season.
