PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today informed the House that the state government does not provide grant-in-aide to technical colleges.
However, the Sawant government has introduced a DJ-GIFT scheme that provides equal fee benefits to all students in the field.
MLA Nilesh Cabral raised the issue of grants-in-aid for government teachers at all engineering colleges.
He also inquired if the government would consider extending this grant to government engineering colleges.
“Additionally, he mentioned that there is no compulsory 15-year residence requirement for recruitment in both private and government colleges,” said Cabral.
CM responding to MLA Cabral said that the Government does not provide grants-in-aid to technical colleges and as many as 50% of seats are vacant in pvt technical colleges due to high semester fees.
“Government introduced DJ-Gift scheme that provides equal fee benefit to all students in the field,” he added.
