MAPUSA: Saligao police arrested one thief for dishonestly committing theft of approximately 224 Old used tower batteries from the company Godown amounting to Rs 3,00,000/- Approx.
According to Saligao police, a complaint was lodged by the Operational Manager of D’Mello Telepower private Ltd, Cotula waldo, Saligao, Bardez, that in the 1st week of November 2022 to 20/01/2023, the accused person, namely Raghunath Tukaram Powar age-32 of Auchut waldo, Thivim, Bardez-Goa but native of Kagal, Kolhapur, Maharashtra being a supervisor of the De Mello Telepower private Ltd. Robbed the old used battery from the company godown in this regard the Saligao police registered an offence vide U/s 381 IPC stands registered at Saligao
Acting upon the complaint, Saligao Police Station staff, ASI Anil Kerkar, Police Constable Vijay Palni, Sarvesh Gawas, Rahul Angolkar, and Nikhil Naik under the leadership of PI Milind Bhuimbar, immediately swung into action and after hectic efforts apprehended accused at Thivim. The accused admitted to the commission of a crime; he was arrested and remanded to 04 days of Police custody.
