PANAJI: The retrenched workers of Sesa Goa today submitted a representation to Provident Fund Officer in regards to clarification of PF dues.
Addressing the media, the workers said that the PF officer has assured to solve this issue as soon as possible.
The workers said that they were assured by the company that their dues would be cleared before December 2023 end.
“The mining block is already auctioned. The company is neither clearing our dues nor is it ready to take us back to work,” they said.
The workers said that what should we do? We have already submitted all the documents but despite that the PF is not cleared. It is our hard-earned money,” a worker said.
“When we were retrenched in June why was the proposal to withdraw funds given to EPFO in October why this delay,” they said.
Over a 100 former employees of Sesa-Vedanta Mining Corporation recently staged a protest outside the company office demanding to settle PF dues.
The former employees said that the company failed to settle PF dues in the last 5 months. “The company failed to settle PF dues since last 5 months from EPF trust managed by Vedanta” they said.
