MAPUSA: Abdul Kader Khwaja, the owner of a Pitbull, has been apprehended by Anjuna police for negligence under Section 106(1) BNS, following a tragic incident resulting in the passing of 7-year-old Prabhas Kalangutkar.
The accusations against Khwaja suggest that his neglectfulness contributed to the boy’s untimely demise. The distressing occurrence took place on Thursday at approximately 3:30 pm when the boy accompanied his mother to her workplace.
While she was occupied with her duties as a domestic help, the family’s Pitbull unexpectedly attacked the boy. The dog viciously attacked Prabhas, causing severe injuries to his cheek, neck, arms, and legs, resulting in significant bleeding and trauma.
Eyewitnesses, including family members, promptly arranged for Prabhas to be transported to North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to GMC in Bambolim. Despite the medical intervention, Prabhas tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Anjuna Police have registered an FIR against Abdul Kader Khwaja the owner of a Pitbull dog as a result of which a 7-year-old boy died.
As per police FIR was filed against Abdul for allegedly keeping his pet dog (Pitbull) negligently unleashed at his residence.
Anjuna PI Suraj Gawas stated that an offence has been registered in the matter. The victim was taken to the GMC for treatment after the attack, however, the boy succumbed to his injuries.
Reports say that although the owner of the pit bull had warned the deceased boy’s mother about its aggressive nature, she left the dog free and unattended.
