PORVORIM: Porvorim police has registered an FIR against Jason Furtado and Jemmimah Vaz for allegedly abusing and assaulting cashier of a restaurant in Porvorim.
The duo also allegedly assaulted complainant and his friends with slaps, kicks and threatened them with dire consequences.
The video of the incident had gone viral across social media platforms. As per reports, an FIR was lodged against the accused by Porvorim police under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
As per the authorities, the individuals engaged into an altercation with the cashier of the restaurant Goa Wine and Dine. Later, the couple assaulted and abused the restaurant cashier.
The situation worsened after the couple got involved into a violent argument with two youngsters standing at the eatery. The fight further escalated after insults and punches were unleashed.
Superintendent of Police, North Goa, SP Nidhin Valsan added that when the complainant tried to save the cashier, the accused person abused the complainant and his friends. The police official affirmed that further investigation is in progress.
In the viral video, a Jason can be seen with a torn T-shirt and a woman can be heard screaming and threatening two people standing near the restaurant. The man gets into a fight with two men standing in front of the restaurant.
The woman later joins the man and shouts at the two people standing outside the restaurant. The woman abuses and asks them to get out as it is her Goa. The woman keeps fighting and stops the man from interfering.
