PANAJI: Goa Police said that Forensic doctors conducted tests on the deceased victims’ bodies in the Porvorim self fatal accident and found no traces of alcohol.
“According to police, none of the deceased victims in Porvorim accident were drunk. Forensic doctors conducted tests on the deceased victims’ bodies and found no traces of alcohol, the police said. The car Nexon was driven by Shawn Fernandes (26),” said Goa Police
Police have also registered a case of rash and negligent driving in the Porvorim fatal accident case.
Tata Nexon EV carrying five individuals crashed into a roadside tree in Porvorim during the early.
Three young people had lost their lives, while two others suffered severe injuries in the accident. The accident appeared to have occurred due to the driver losing control of the vehicle at a high speed.
One of the injured individuals told the police, that Fiona and Abigail, both residents of Merces, had attended a birthday celebration in Quepem but were delayed in returning. Tragically, as they reached the Teen Building bus stop, Shawn, who was behind the wheel, lost control of the vehicle, leading to the catastrophic collision with a roadside tree.
Abigail D’Souza (21), a resident of Merces, Valdrofe D’Souza (30) from Badem-Assagao, and Shawn Fernandes (27) from Parra all lost their lives instantly due to the intense impact. The injured survivors, Ninoshka Fernandes (21) and Fiona D’Souza (25), both from Merces, were rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim for treatment.
