PORVORIM: A hit-and-run case involving a 79-year-old woman was resolved by the Porvorim Police in less than a day.
One Laxmi Satpute from Rajaram Puri, Kolhapur, was struck by an unidentified car in Alto Betim, Bardez, on November 26, according to the police. After being taken to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, the injured woman passed away while receiving treatment.
Under the direction of Police Inspector Rahul Parab, the Porvorim Police then assembled a squad to solve the hit-and-run case. Himanshu Santu, a 21-year-old Uttar Pradesh native, was identified as the accused driver after the team conducted thorough groundwork and tracked down the vehicle implicated in the case.
In accordance with Sections 281,106(1) BNS 2023 and 3 r/w 181, 134(a)(b) of the MV Act 1988, a formal complaint has been filed against the accused, who was employed as a bellhop at a resort in Betim.
According to the police, the body’s post-mortem examination has been completed and given to the family members. Under the direction of Police Inspector Rahul Parab, PSI Pratik Tulaskar is doing additional inquiry.
