PORIEM: Deviya Rane chaired a comprehensive review meeting with officials from various government departments to assess and strengthen pre-monsoon preparedness measures in Sattari ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
Officials from the office of the Mamlatdar, Valpoi Municipal Council, BDO office, Water Resources Department, Police, Traffic Cell, Directorate of Health Services, Civil Supplies Department, Zonal Agriculture Office, Forest Department, Electricity Department, PWD and ADEI Valpoi attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on ensuring timely and coordinated action among departments to safeguard public safety and minimise disruptions during heavy rainfall.
Key issues reviewed included the functioning of the Emergency Control Room in Sattari, identification of buildings and trees in dangerous condition, desilting of drains, gutters and nullahs, continuous monitoring of water levels, and precautionary measures to tackle vector-borne diseases.
The meeting also reviewed other critical preparedness initiatives aimed at ensuring quick response mechanisms during emergencies.
Rane stressed the importance of proactive planning, inter-departmental coordination and swift action to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens throughout the monsoon season.
