New Delhi: The political unrest in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is set to intensify as Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) leader Sardar Aman Kashmiri has called for a large scale public mobilisation, urging people across the region to take to the streets in protest against Pakistan’s administration.
The appeal comes as demonstrations in PoK have continued for nearly 70 days, with protesters accusing the authorities of responding to the movement through arrests, violence and repression instead of addressing their demands. Organisers say the latest mobilisation is intended to unite citizens across the territory and amplify calls for justice, accountability and political reform.
Kashmiri has framed the movement as a broader struggle for constitutional supremacy and the rule of law rather than a campaign driven solely by economic or administrative grievances. He has also called for the establishment of a people’s government, arguing that meaningful political representation is essential to resolving the region’s ongoing crisis.
