PONDA— Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh demanded a 27 per cent reservation of seats in the Goa Legislative Assembly.
Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh Goa State President Madu Naik expressed dismay over the long-pending demands of OBC about which memorandums are submitted to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and MLAs.
He demanded with new OBC MLAs/ Ministers of the Goa Government to fulfil three long pending demands of OBC.
Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh Goa State President Madu Naik and former Curchorem MLA Sham Satardekar, and various OBC leaders from Goa addressing to media expressed unhappiness that they are not getting an appointment from Government to discuss their long-pending issues.
He said due to non-payment of the OBC Scholarship for three years, 2019-20, 20-21, and 21-22, around 25000 OBC students were deprived of these benefits.
He demanded that the scholarships be paid immediately to OBC students. He also raised concern over not considering reservation in admission for Post Graduation in Goa Medical College. He urged the MLAs /Ministers to take appropriate steps to fulfil the long-pending demands of OBCs in Goa.
He also demanded the creation of the OBC Welfare Ministry with a separate budget head for OBC with a 27 per cent budget.
He also said there is around 60 per cent OBC population in Goa and so accordingly demanded OBC census be conducted in Goa beside 27 per cent reservation of seats in Goa Legislative Assembly.
The Press conference was attended by OBC leaders Surya Naik, Hanumant Vast, Vaman Vaidya, Naubat Vaidya , Namdev Chopedkar, Yeshwant Khedekar , Ladu Surlakar, Suryakant Gosavi, Vinayak Vengurlekar, Damdodar Nadar, Nilkant Naik, Digambar Zalmi, Adv. Rhudhh Chopdekar, Ganapat Naik, Suryakant Naik and other OBC leaders were present.
