PANAJI: Revenue Minister Atanasion Monserrate said that recruitment of additional 15 Mamlatdars will help speed up the disposal of pending Mundkarial cases pending before the taluka revenue courts.

He further called for sensitization of the mamlatdars to the provisions of the Mundkar Act to acclimatize them with the law in force for the benefit of the citizens.
Monserrate said that every Month one MLA will be addressing the grievances of the public in Janta Darbar.
“Janta Darbar is a unique initiative taken by our Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant to resolve the issues of people infront of the concerned Department and authorities. It is the need of the hour that the Mamlatdar, Deputy Collector and Collector give a human touch as far as the grievances of the public are concerned,’ said Monserrate
Babush said that there were as many as 16,260 Mundkar cases pending across the State. He said that this was not proper and that people should get their Mundkarial rights as per the Act.
He said that a special mechanism will be devised to expedite the pending Mundkar cases.
Minister said that the public should be provided hassle free services and should not be made to run around the departments”, he added.
He further stated that the officers should guide the people to resolve their grievances and should not delay due to the absence of any official.
The first Janta Darbar witnessed people in large number with their grievances and the Revenue Minister ensured people that their issues will be resolved with immediate effect.
