VALPOI: Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane reviewed the progress of the scientific RFID-enabled waste management initiative in Valpoi and Usgao, with a focus on strengthening implementation, improving accountability and accelerating the goal of achieving 100 per cent scientific waste management.
During the review meeting, the team assessed the roadmap towards achieving Zero Waste status and discussed measures to further enhance monitoring, execution and service delivery at the ground level.
Rane said the RFID-enabled model being implemented in Valpoi and Usgao is laying the foundation for a smarter and more accountable waste management system.
He added that the government’s long-term vision is to replicate the technology-driven waste management model across municipalities in Goa in a phased manner, with the aim of building cleaner, healthier and more sustainable communities across the state.
