SALIGAO: Preparations for the Grand Annual Heritage Festival 2026, scheduled to be held from May 8 to 10 in Saligao, are underway, with local leaders and government officials holding a detailed review meeting to coordinate arrangements for the event.
The meeting was chaired by Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, who said the focus was on planning, coordination and ensuring a safe and memorable experience for visitors attending the three-day festival celebrating Saligao’s cultural heritage.
Officials from the Department of Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), Traffic Cell, Saligao Police and Fire Department participated in the meeting to review logistics, crowd management and safety measures.
Among those present were Director of Tourism Kedar Naik, GTDC Managing Director Kuldeep Arolkar, Dy. GM Marketing Deepak Narvekar, Dy. Director Jayesh Kankonkar and IT Manager Pritesh Palyekar.
Several local representatives and BJP functionaries also attended the meeting, including Gauresh Madkaikar, Neha Kerkar, Diksha Naik, Eknath Oraskar, Fondu Naik, Sandeep Bandodkar and Avinash Naik.
Speaking after the meeting, Kedar Naik expressed confidence that the festival would showcase Saligao’s rich heritage and cultural traditions while attracting visitors from across Goa and beyond.
The Grand Annual Heritage Festival is expected to feature cultural programmes, traditional performances and community participation over the three-day celebration.
