PANAJI: Cybercrime police have filed a formal complaint against an unidentified suspect for defrauding a resident of Saligao out of ₹. 13,98,000.
The fraudster initially contacted the complainant via Facebook Messenger and persuaded her to connect to “kits model academy” on Telegram.
They then forced her to finish a task and invest ₹. 13,98,000 in bitcoin and bytes under the guise of obtaining a modelling contract and high returns.
Finally, they made her transfer a total of ₹. 13,98,000.
