MARGAO: A scooter rider died after his Honda Aviator collided with the rear of a Tata goods carrier truck allegedly parked negligently along the Arlem-Nuvem bypass road.
According to Maina Curtorim Police, the incident occurred on August 6, prior to 11.09 pm, on the road leading towards Nuvem Junction.
Police said the accused, identified as Gavaliram Paval, a native of Pune, Maharashtra, was driving the Tata goods carrier and had allegedly parked the truck on the left side of the road without taking proper care and precaution, thereby creating a danger to human life.
The rider of the Honda Aviator, identified as Deepak Langote, a resident of Nuvem, Salcete, subsequently crashed into the rear of the parked truck.
The impact left Langote seriously injured. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by ASI Hemant Gaude of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Veronica Coutinho of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
