Mormugao: The ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ bike rally witnessed a massive turnout of BJP workers and supporters as hundreds of participants rode from Mormugao to Vasco before gathering for a grand programme at Joggers Park, Chicalim.
The rally was organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. Participants also highlighted the governance and development initiatives of Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
BJP National Secretary and Spokesperson and Goa Co-Observer Anil Antony, son of former Defence Minister A.K. Antony, attended the programme along with Cabinet Minister Mauvin Godinho, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar.
Flagging off the rally and addressing the gathering at Chicalim, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar praised the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Sawant.
“Completing 25 long years as Chief Minister and Prime Minister is no small achievement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completely changed how the world looks at India while working directly for the common man. Here in Goa, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant is pushing development rapidly into every corner with good, honest work,” Amonkar said.
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar highlighted the strong participation of youngsters in the rally.
“The huge turnout of youngsters on bikes today shows just how popular PM Modi remains. His 25-year track record of non-stop work gives us all direction. On top of that, CM Dr Pramod Sawant is taking the government straight to the people and getting long-pending work done across Goa,” Salkar said.
Cabinet Minister Mauvin Godinho, highlighting what he described as the “double-engine” growth model, said the large participation reflected public confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
“People came out in massive numbers today because they trust PM Modi and his work over these 25 years. With PM Modi steering the country at the Centre and CM Dr Pramod Sawant leading from the front in Goa, our state is moving ahead very fast on all fronts,” Godinho said.
The rally was marked by enthusiastic participation, cheering and a strong presence of party workers and supporters along the route from Mormugao to Chicalim.
