PANAJI: Shiv Sena Leader and Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray today said that his party will contest all the future elections of Goa.
Thackeray also launched a digital manifesto of the party for Goa Elections 2022 in Sena Leader Sanjay Raut’s presence and its candidates.
“We have decided to contest all future elections in Goa due to the recent political developments and the BJP backstabbing the Shiv Sena; our party has been growing stronger,” said Thackeray addressing the media.
He further slammed the BJP led state government in Goa for failing to develop the state despite having the government at the centre.
“There was completely zero sustainable development in the state despite having the government at the state and centre,” he added.
Thackeray said that its candidate had been getting massive responses during their campaign. He said that Shiv Sena had led positive campaigns.
He further said that Shiv Sena kept its promise of backing ex-Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s son Utpal Parrikar in the upcoming Goa Assembly election.
The Sena, which is contesting the 40-seat Assembly election slated for February 14 in alliance with the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), not only pulled out its candidate Shailendra Velingkar on the last day of withdrawal of nominations but also said it would actively support Parrikar.
