MARGAO: South Goa Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinho wants to take another shot at the Corridors of Power, albeit only if the party gives him a ticket.
“If the party gives me a ticket and if people are with me, I will contest for the last time and will not contest again,” Sardinha said, replying to queries from journos in Margao.
He, however, ruled out contesting independence if the party decided otherwise.
“I will not contest independence. I am a loyal soldier of Congress party,” he said.
At the press conference, Sardinha slammed the Goa government on the Vehicle scrapping policy.
“Truck Owners met me over the scrapping of 15 years of vehicles. I don’t know where this idea is come from. Delhi has done it, but it has 20 times more population, and hence it has more pollution,” he said.
Sardinha stated that in Goa, these truck owners are already hit after the mining ban since 2012 than the COVID-19 lockdown.
“Many of them still need help paying instalments. Instead of helping people government is harassing them with such policies,” he said.
